January 2, 2007, Harrisburg -- Talk about your olive branches! As part of the State Senate’s swearing-in ceremonies, Senate Democratic leader Robert J. Mellow had his 9-year-old granddaughter, Hali Lynne Mellow, sing “Happy Birthday” to the Senate’s new President Pro Tempore Joseph Scarnati (R-Jefferson). Mellow praised Scarnati for pledging to work openly and productively with Democrats in the upcoming legislative session.
